After submitting your project online, the final step is to pass the preselection phase and prepare your presentation for the Science Fest Africa, if your project is shortlisted. Here are the details to succeed at this stage:
- Preselection
Once your project is submitted, it will be evaluated by a panel of scientific and educational experts.
Preselection Evaluation Criteria:
- Originality and Innovation: Does your project offer a new solution or improve existing concepts?
- Relevance: Does the project address a concrete and current problem?
- Clarity and Structure: Is the presentation of your project well-documented and easy to understand?
- Feasibility: Is the project achievable with available resources?

Notification:
If your project is selected, you will be notified via email or phone. You will also receive specific instructions to prepare for your participation in the Science Fest Africa.
- Prepare Your Presentation for the SFA
Selected projects will be showcased at the Science Fest Africa, where they will be evaluated by a panel of experts. Here's what you need to prepare:
- A Prototype or Practical Demonstration: If possible, create a functional version of your solution to better illustrate its usefulness.
- A Visual Presentation: Prepare a clear and attractive visual aid (slideshow, poster, model) highlighting the key points of your project.
- A Structured Speech: Practice presenting your project in less than 10 minutes, answering the following questions:
- What is the identified problem?
- What is your solution?
- What are its advantages and impacts?
- Participate in the SFA Evaluation
During the Science Fest Africa, you will present your project in a competitive setting.
Audience:
Your project will be showcased to a diverse audience, including students, teachers, scientists, academics, and representatives from universities and businesses.
Evaluation:
The jury will assess your project based on the same criteria as the preselection, adding the quality of the presentation and the team’s ability to answer questions.

The best projects in each category will be rewarded during an official ceremony at the Science Fest Africa.
