This step is crucial as it defines the framework in which your team will work. Here are the details to succeed in this phase:
- Choose Your Category:
The Maarif Innov Projects competition offers five scientific and technological categories. Your team can submit up to three projects, each in a different category. Below is a brief description to help you choose:
- Electronics and Robotics
Design devices or robotic systems that use sensors and electronic components to solve practical problems.
Examples: Autonomous robots, smart home systems, automated industrial tools. - Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Develop software or AI-based solutions for current challenges.
Examples: Educational apps, AI for traffic management, automation software. - Agricultural Technologies
Propose innovations aimed at improving sustainability and productivity in agriculture.
Examples: Agricultural drones, water-efficient irrigation systems, greenhouse management tools. - Renewable Energy and Recycling
Imagine projects utilizing clean energy sources or promoting waste recycling.
Examples: Solar chargers, mini wind turbines, automated sorting systems. - Human Mobility
Create devices that enhance accessibility and quality of life for people with disabilities.

Ask yourselves questions like:
- What problem are we trying to solve?
- Who is affected by this problem?
- Why is it important to solve it?
A strong project starts with a clear and well-defined problem statement.
- Design an Innovative Solution:
- Originality: Your solution should be unique and innovative. It could be an improvement on an existing idea or a completely new invention.
- Practicality: Ensure your solution is achievable with the available resources.
- Impact: Your project should have a positive impact and address the identified problem effectively.
- Collaborate as a Team to Develop the Project:
- Planning: Create a detailed plan of the steps to follow, from prototype to final product.
- Role Distribution: Assign tasks based on each team member’s skills (research, design, testing, presentation).
- Mentor Supervision: Seek regular feedback from your mentor to ensure you’re on the right track.
- Document Your Work:
